Struggles of an International (Nigerian) Student: Part One- What to Pack

Hey!

I know, I’m literally the worst blogger! I apologize for going MIA again, life has been quite busy over here… or maybe I just got lazy, who knows? lol

Anyway, I’m getting ready to move to school for my master’s program(me) and I compiled a list of essential things to pack from home.

Number One: Indomie Instant Noodles. YOU NEED THIS. For all those days/ nights when you don’t have time to make an elaborate meal or you’re too broke to buy food, this will be your savior. Trust me!

Number Two: Knorr Cubes. I don’t know about you, but I love flavor in my food so this is VERY essential. Adobo is a close substitute but doesn’t quite do the job for me.

Number Three: Dried Pepper. This is the easiest way to add a kick to your favorite meals.

Number Four. Yaji (Suya Pepper). Yaji+ Knorr+ Chicken= perfection. Try it!

Number Five: Shea Butter. Perfect for those dry winter days. Keeps your skin, and hair healthy and moisturized.

Number Six: Chin-chin. What better snack to pack?

Number Seven: Golden Morn/ Peak Milk. Feed the child in you. Comes in handy for those late nights, and early mornings.

Number Eight: Black Soap. My new-found love. Major key to healthy skin.

Number Nine: Sure Roll-on deodorant. Simply because I don’t like sprays and solid sticks.

Number Ten: Nigerian Art. Adds a touch of home to your dorm room/ apartment.

If you’re like me, and you over-pack, you might want to add things like crayfish (dried and blended), bean powder, and garri.

Best of luck in your new schools, make sure to meet people and make friends! It pays off!
