Oven-baked Chicken- 5 ways

Hello!

Long time no blog! I know… In the last month my life has been a roller coaster of events. I graduated guys!! YAY!!!

Anyway, today is all about chicken. If you know me, you know I love my chicken (especially those thighs). I’ll be sharing five quick and easy ways to marinate chicken that will have your taste buds jumping for joy.

  1. Classic Peppered Chicken: For those who can handle the heat. If you can’t just use milder spices.
  2. Sweet and Spicy Chicken: Flavorful with a dash of sweetness
  3. Black pepper Chicken: simple and quick
  4. Honey Lemon Pepper chicken
  5. Good old Barbecue chicken

Here are my top secret recipes (shhhhh)

Classic Peppered Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • 2 Chicken buillion cubes (I use Knorr)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Yaji (nigerian suya spice)
  • 1-3 tbsp Pepper (dried or blended fresh)- choose your spice level
  • 1 tbsp Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Ginger

Sweet and Spicy Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • 2 Chicken buillion cubes (I use Knorr)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Honey
  • 1-3 tbsp habanero pepper sauce
  • 1 tbsp cayenne pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp Thyme
  • 1 tbsp Ginger

Black pepper Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • 2 Chicken buillion cubes (I use Knorr)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Butter
  • Black pepper
  • Pepper (optional)

Honey Lemon Pepper Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 3-5 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp habanero pepper sauce
  • Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 lemon (sliced for garnishing)

Good ol’ Barbecue Chicken

Ingredients

  • Chicken
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Barbecue sauce (I use honey bbq)
  • Pepper (optional)

Directions

Bake at 350 degrees for about 45-50 mins.

After washing the chicken, put it in a big bowl and pour in all the ingredients and mix thoroughly. Cover the bowl with plastic food cover or foil. Put it in the fridge for 30 mins if you’re in a hurry, or, over night if you want the spices to really penetrate.

For the honey lemon pepper chicken, place the lemon slices on the chicken before putting the chicken into the oven.
